These are the seven Spirits of God.” Revelation 4:5 “From the throne came flashes of lightning rumblings and peals of thunder, Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of Him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.” Revelation 3:1 Additional Scriptures on the 7 Spirits of God Just as God is one but has three distinct personhoods: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, so the Holy Spirit is One but with seven distinct expressions. There are seven distinct expressions of the one Holy Spirit: 1) Spirit of the Lord, 2) Spirit of Wisdom, 3) Spirit of Understanding, 4) Spirit of Counsel, 5) Spirit of Strength, 6) Spirit of Knowledge and 7) the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, and He will not judge by what His eyes see, nor make a decision by what His ears hear…” The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. “ Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit. To participate in this unequaled move of God, we must align with the fullness of His Holy Spirit-the same Spirit that rested on Jesus and lives inside of every Spirit-filled believer! I can hear you asking, “So what do you mean by the 7 Spirits of God, anyway?” Primary Verse-Isaiah 11:1-3 Do you want to walk in a greater fullness of the Holy Spirit? Do you want to see the Great Commission fulfilled? Do you want to see reformation and transformation of society occur? A great reformation and transformation is coming through the body of Christ that will awaken people in every sphere of society and then impact the nations of the earth. It also corresponds to the “seven spirits” of Revelation 1:4, 3:1, 4:5, and 5:6.Do the 7 Spirits of God rest on you? They rested on Jesus. The sevenfold nature of the Spirit in Isaiah 11:2 is therefore synonymous with the measureless fullness in John 3:34. Yeshua, however, was given the Spirit “without measure.” In Scripture, the number seven signifies perfection, completeness, or fullness. No one ever has all of the gifts because God has ordained that the members of the Church be mutually dependent. Because each believer only has a measure of the Spirit, each one has different gifts and ministries (I Cor. ![]() The New Testament teaches that all who believe in Yeshua as Messiah are given a measure of the Holy Spirit. When looking for the fulfillment of this prophecy in the life of Yeshua, we find that in John 3:34, John the Baptist describes Yeshua as having the fullness of the Spirit: For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God for He gives the Spirit without measure. ![]() The “Spirit of the Lord” is mentioned once, followed by three more references to “the Spirit of,” each one followed by two attributes. The description used here is representative of a Jewish menorah or seven-branched lampstand. In verse 2, we are told that this Messiah will have the sevenfold fullness of the Holy Spirit. The emphasis in verse 1 is on Messiah’s lowly origin. The references to the “seven spirits” of God in the book of Revelation have an Old Testament background, namely, Isaiah 11:1-2. I was wondering if you could enlighten me? I am having trouble understanding the “seven spirits” or the “sevenfold spirit” of Revelation. What are the “seven spirits” of Revelation?
